Did you know many people have different sized feet? Have you measured yours? You’ll be surprised!

I am sure that most of you know that many people have different sized feet. Probably you or someone you know has different sized feet. It’s very common and nothing to be alarmed by, and if you’re just realizing this now… don’t worry! You are not alone. In fact, I decided to find out for myself just how different my feet really are. So I did a simple comparison, putting both my feet on two separate pieces of paper and tracing them with a pen. I measured each foot from the tip of my big toe, to the end of my heel, and then from the middle point of the length I measured across to find the width. I discovered that my right foot is about 1/3 inch longer than my left foot, and my left foot is just a bit more than 1/6 inch wider than my right. This explained a lot to me. My feet were one whole size different! No wonder shoe shopping has been difficult in the past. Now, if your feet are exactly the same size consider yourself very lucky. As for the rest of us wondering what current solutions are available, let’s think for a minute. Well, first, and I think the obvious solution is to buy bigger shoes. This is what I have been doing for some time now. I buy bigger shoes, rather than smaller shoes, because I would rather have one foot with extra room instead of one foot with no room at all (really cramped and tight equals blisters yikes!). The other solution that I recently came across is to buy a customized pair of shoes. By that I mean one shoe is one size, and the other is a different size. Now from what I have read there is no guarantee for 100% accuracy on the first try, it’s fairly expensive, and for some people it may look odd. So let’s just say we go with the first choice, and decide to buy bigger shoes. Well, up until now I tried to stuff newspaper and cloth at the front of my shoe to fill the empty space and keep my heel from slipping out; it didn’t work.
